Thanks

If you do mean for a quick wipe over to take away finger marks etc any oil will do. If the gun is wet then its a different story.
I use an old, and I do mean old, bit of "T" shirt damp with 3in 1 it's orrible now but does the job.
When I die don't let my wife sell my guns for what she thinks I gave for them!!!
Ballistol every time for me.
NAPIER FORMULA X VP90 has worked well for me over the years.
Elbow grease!
I use Napier. It's got that VP90 corrosion inhibitor in it. Not a good lubricating oil but for oiling bluing it's perfect.
Cheers
Greg

Napier, Webley or Baliston. never ever WD40. normal car engine oil will do the job.
the only thing i can find wrong is the nut on the steering wheel.
I use Finish Line Wet Lube, it's an oil for bike chains, only because I bought a 5 litre bottle fifteen years ago and still have 3.5 litres left and the bikes have gone!
Abbey gun clean oil, cheap from our sponsor
Balistol. The added benefit was the smell kept the ex Mrs sniffing around the gun room or, dread it, going in there with the vacuum cleaner.
