    I just like it because it gives my eyes a rest from all the lavish Walnut that surrounds me

    I mainly bought it as a nostalgia piece as when they where first out I was trying to get in the army at the time and I had an interest in all things military.

    I once had the mis fortune to shoot a Combat. The noise was still reverberating in the stock long after the pellet had reached the target (and missed. ). Military looking rifles is not my cup of cha.

    Morning all - does anyone know if todays/modern HW35 maintains the screw in back block - or is it a slide in affair like the 99/95 modern 85?

    From memory, all the 30mm ID cylinders are still screw in back blocks, Craig.

    Dunno why I abhor the tile things, the non-screw in blocks on the 30 and the 25 don't bother me, but I really don't like them. A proper full size HW needs the threaded block.

    As the chaps have said, Craigy, the '35 still has the screw-in end block.

    Are you thinking of maybe having one instead of an '80?

    Cheaper and shorter stroke than the '80.

    The Tinster and Pete will be most dismayed if the lovely '35 gains yet another fan!

    Yes, my latest '35 bought last year has the same screw in end block. Why change a good design?
