some nice stuff some not so nice
Ive got 3 dogs to support
maybe they can go on a diet...got in the bidding again, guess what..automatically outbidded. It happens immediately
Someone must have an arrangement somehow to outbid everybid thats made...
I suspect it is working like , someone else has put in a maximum bid higher than you have bid so far so when you up yours theirs goes above it automatically.

That's how online auctions work - as Rich said, they only show a higher bid when someone else places a higher one. Otherwise your maximum is invisible and if you're lucky, you get it for less...

It works so that the winner gets it for the lowest bid they could make to outbid the opposition; up to their maximum bid amount. If the opposition places a bid higher than the highest bid that the original bidder can make, then the opposition bid becomes the highest bid.

So if the item is at £100 but you were to enter your highest bid as £1000 then you might go into the lead at £125 but the opposition may then bid up to say £150, your auto bid would then automatically bid £175 for you so you could well win. (depending on how the automatic system increases bids) and so it goes on until one of you runs out of bid.

This is all very exciting, but when I sell part of my collection-

The sale is at my home.
You have a choice of tea or coffee.
    And biscuits.
    There is no buyers premium.
You will get all accessories, manual and a free bag with each gun.

I appreciate that I may be missing something but my system seems to work well.

Having attended your previous sales I can confirm the above is correct, but I didn't get a biscuit Patrick!

Just tried looking for 'Dorset Old Bean' but can't find it. Looks like a Midsomer address.
