I am no expert, but I think I might try moving the piston round a bit in case its worn.
The sear on my Junior Mk 2 is not holding all the time.
The spring is fine and there are no binds.
I am putting it down to a worn sear.
Can it be stoned to correct, or is it £20.00+ for a replacement?

I was able to supply a new Webley J7 sear which has restored evolution's pistol to full working order, but I have been told there are different sized post war Junior sears even though I can find only one, J7, listed,
Has any one else encountered different sized Junior sears ?
Hi David,
As discussed the other evening, Junior sears may have been marked J7 on Webley parts lists but not all interchange. I have several in my spares box and not all fit the same pistols. I appreciate some hand fitting may have been necessary but wierd that a spare may not fit without a little work. From memory, I think the sear pivot hole location varies on some sears in a minor but significant manner.
Kind regards,
John
Hi John,
After the sear I supplied fitted perfectly, and following our conversation, I thought I would ask if others had experienced the same problem.
As you say, weird that a Webley spare might need some fettling to fit; a Knibbs spare, yes, that's an accepted fact, but Webley spares usually fit out of the packet.
