Thanks. I have sent him a pm on this forum
It may be a parts sourcing issue. I know they have had trouble with sourcing parts that are niche and possibly low volume. The small chrono market is a busy place nowadays too.

Post 24 . Robin gives the reason there.
Last time I tried to use mine it gave an error that the manual said I needed to clean the battery contacts, I tried several times but it wouldn't work

The design relies on four stacked cells. Certainly when I had my Combro it would come back into operation after I'd taken the cells out and rubbed each side hard on the carpet. That's eight rubs. Any battery technology involves chemicals and they always seem to find their way outside of where they're meant to be. Corrosion, high resistance contacts or worse is the result. These pieces of kit are often stored for months or years between being used and that makes this situation worse.
Clean the cells and give the printed circuit board battery contact points a gentle 'polish'.

I’ve got one, might have to put it up for sale and start a bidding war
All sorted thank you robin

Not pitting down the Crombo, but there are other cheaper alternatives. I tried to get one, but as someone said, he's hasn't got the parts. So I ordered HT-X3000 from amazon, was about £27 and works really well. Has good reviews round the web, so bit hard to compete with this price point?
