over a grand in that condition ? Seriously ?
cocking lever is wrong, trigger blade also wrong. catch does looks a bit wrong - but maybe just an early version ? Rearsight looks wrong too - not 100%.

Very odd, at first I just thought someone had knocked up a makeshift cocking lever/grip but the barrel release catch looks odd too.
On closer inspection it looks home-made
Is it an early prototype to test the barrel catch or has someone just tried to make one in metalwork class?
Looks pretty hideous to me.
Any ideas anyone?
Cheers,
Matt

Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
Barrel looks retro-fitted slightly too big diameter. I might go to 100 quid as an oddity. Would never find another one like it, thank The Lord.

BE AN INDEPENDENT THINKER, DON'T FOLLOW THE CROWD
Yeah,
just to confirm I'm not interested in trying to purchase this....thing.
I think the seller has insulted Britannia's everywhere buy naming it such
I am interested in what it is though, or what's been done to it.
You can see weld marks round the breech jaws, very odd.
Cheers,
Matt
l think someone has been to India on holiday with a photo of a britannia and and come back with this.a anglo sure shot it is not, which is what the seller is saying it is. but they don't show a photo of the stampings.

After a quick search I've found that this thing is on my doorstep :-

I could go and have a look, but I just can't be bothered.![]()
Awwwww, come on folks, give the dealer a break please. They are offering free postage, which is more than most of them do!
My barge pole wouldn't reach from here if I tried, so I won't.
It amazes me that someone can possibly describe that as in, 'Very Good Condition'. It doesn't reflect well on his status as an antiques dealer.
I have the one & only Bsa Cadet carbine, Barrel is about 15" is it rare?
No. Actually someone had fired it with the barrel broken & it had bent badly at the front of the breech block, so badly that the rifling was creased.
I fixed it by sawing the barrel off just in front of the breech block. Heated the breech block up & unsoldered the barrel stub from it & knocked it out.
Straightened the barrel section with a lead hammer, turned the back end down to fit the breechblock & turned the new breech seal groove & soldered it back in. Foresight is in the right place & you would never know until you stood it next to a normal one.
Shoots well too!
