Such rifles can take a while to sell at the premium, though respectful, price asked. They either go in a blink of an eye or take a while for the news to filter out to someone who not only wants one but also the war chest that minute to buy it.
Its rare to get a swop to come off, as thats a big ask to have two people with the right stuff.
ye your right musket. but i think people want things for next to nothing on here now .how times have changed been on here now for a good few years . people ask for pics or show interest then dont even message back when youve took time out to send pics . ive a few to sell some rare but puts me off posting them on here .
They are fen trap tight with their wallets here. They didn't build their collections from splashing the cash.
I usually sell on the open sales section. If it doesn't go try again six months down the line.
Some private messages are just trying their luck. Often months later an private message pops up, and rarely quibbles with the price. They know they "must" have it having window shopped too long.
If you have something rare and good then lowering the price doesn't actually find a sale any faster as there still has to be a buyer with the cash.
Often there is the cash later in the year. When Christmas credit cards are paid off, or last tips from the Shooting season.
News does travel but not fast and many big collectors just don't check sales sections that often.
Yes, you may have made the decision to let it go. But you might have to be patient.
