Currently my Raw Lrt .25 fac ive found to be very accurate, satisfying.although its far from Bog standard....However i only pest shoot.
If we keep with air rifles, and thus to me pest control...
This.
25cal and packs punch enough to bring anything pest to the ground.
Anything but pests on the other hand we´re into powder burners as far as i´m concerned, and that´s a whole different matter.
You're all going to laugh here but i shot more rabbits with a BAM B50 (after fettling ) than all the fancy repeaters i've had since including two daystates & a JB'd Bsa R10. Learned a lot about pcps getting it right too in the process.
Use the hw with unknown sf scope that was on when I bought it. Recently bought R10 th with Hawke sidewinder, but always take Hw.
I've taken a few dozen grey squirrels with my TX200 and Bushnell 4200 Elite 8-32×40. It also doubles as my FT gin.
Brocock Contour Super 6 in .177 flavour , Lovely Accurate lightweight carbine rifle with very comfortable stock and a very nice hunting trigger, shot loads of Woodies , squirrels and rats with it and it never lets me down
My skan r22 bagged me quite a lot when i hunted before my eye sight went all to shit.
I was going to answer the question in the title. Then I read the original post and realised 'shotgun' wouldn't be right.
My HW100t .177 cal with a 3x12x44 MTC Mamba scope and
for NV fitted with a NS200, and later with a NS-wolf
