UKAHFT .22 British Championships - Meon Valley, 12 June
We're delighted to confirm that Sunday 12 June will see the inaugural running of the UKAHFT .22 HFT British Championships, hosted by Meon Valley Airgun Club.
We're expecting that this event will attract shooters from all over the UK, whether they shoot a .22 PCP or .22 springer (or even .25, for those who relish a really big challenge!), so now's the time to put the date in your diary and to start getting some practice in with your "cannon"!
This competition will take place at MVAC's Wallops Woods grounds; the nearest postcode is SO32 3QX, but best you use What3Words “Switched.Buggy.Offshore” which will bring you directly to the gated entrance to these grounds.

UPDATE
It has been agreed that with Meon Valley Airgun Club hosting this competition and range-finding being a critical element of .22 shooting, no Meon members who are taking part in this shoot will be allowed to be in any way involved with setting the course.
Furthermore, any Meon member who visits our Hen Woods grounds (where this competition is being staged) once course-setting has commenced will automatically be disbarred from entering.

UPDATE: British .22 HFT Championship Shoot - 12 June, 2022
In addition to trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, there will also be trophies awarded for the highest score with a recoil/spring rifle and (for those shooters who REALLY enjoy a challenge!) for the highest score with a .25 calibre rifle.
No advance booking required but if you could indicate if you intend coming along for what promises to be a hugely enjoyable day, it would really help to get an idea of the numbers of shooters in advance to help us with advance planning for catering, parking, etc.

Just seen the trophies that have been commissioned for the first-ever staging of the UKAHFT .22 British Championships- and they look fab!

With range-finding and distances playing such a major part of shooting HFT with a .22 calibre rifle, the course for the inaugural UKAHFT .22 British Championships at Meon Valley Airgun Club this Sunday (12 June) has been set by a small team of Meon club members who will not be taking part in the competition. Thank you, guys!
So as to make life easier for those competitors who have a long journey to Meon’s grounds at Hen Woods, the start time is 11.00AM – preceded by the all-important safety brief that everyone taking part must be present for.
The nearest postcode is GU32 1HY BUT as this is for a property that is some distance away from the entrance off the road to Hen Woods, we strongly recommend that visitors use the What3Words “Holidays.Polygraph.Hardening”. This will take you to the track that leads up to Hen Woods, off of the road that runs between East Meon and West Meon. Follow the track for approximately 1 mile to the shooting ground, taking the left hand fork after about a third of a mile.

Change of venue!!
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – UKAHFT BRITISH .22 CHAMPIONSHIPS
Due to unforeseeable circumstances, the venue for this competition has been changed and will now take place at Meon Valley Airgun Club’s other ground at Wallops Woods (instead of Hen Woods, as had previously been planned)
The nearest postcode for Wallops Woods is SO32 3QX, but best you use What3Words “Switched.Buggy.Offshore” which will bring you directly to the gated entrance to these grounds.
The start time of 11.00AM remains unchanged.

Massive thanks to all my fellow Meon Valley Airgun Club members who pulled out all the stops and have performed an absolute miracle in getting a brand new, top quality course set at our Wallops Woods grounds in time for the competition on Sunday!
So many pitched in and put their shoulders to the wheel to make this happen (even though almost none of these guys will be taking part in the competition), after fate threw us a completely unexpected curved ball at 8.30pm on Wednesday evening resulting in us having to relocate the .22 British Championships at incredibly short notice.
