You can buy hull cutters to trim them down to where you want. Everything from a wooden block with a Stanley blade to this sort of thing https://www.claygame.co.uk/gaep-case-trimmer-pd262
I have accumilated quite a collection of .410s and decided to have a go at reloading. I have realised that there is quite a range of chamber sizes between my guns so I will need to resize the fired hulls. Is this possible with hand tools or would I need press of some sort?

Do nothing, achieve nothing
i bored out an old Lee carbide 45acp die. Cant remember the shell holder size but maybe 45/70.
I use a single stage press - works well.
A 'whack it with a hammer' would probably do for me. Where would I get one? Is it just a thick metal tube?
They were part of the now rather rare .410 loading kit, I think mine arrived in a box of odds and sods. But yes, essentially a chambered tube that you clout over the cartridge and then knock out with a rod.

I'll have to see if I can get one made
The Lee ones are way out of production. These guys make something similar

I believe international orders are done via , but email them to ask.
Never had any trouble, other than bulk processing when the kids get bored and stroppy, hull sizing using hand tools. Hull trimmer bought from Clay & Game works for me.
