So many reasons for the price rises, as given above. A highly restricted budget (plus lack of space) means I'm out of the market, most especially for new. But we're not all affected. I know of at least one newly enthused shooter who has treated himself to (at the last count) 8 guns this year; 7 of them new, so the cost of living crisis / inflation hasn't hit everyone equally as hard. Some of those more expensive, quality rifles will still work out as costing less than a week's wages for some people (not myself, I must add) and they'll be getting a wonderfully engineered rifle that will give them sterling service for many, many years. People come into the motorbike shop where I work and regularly spend £700+ on a helmet and well upwards of £1000 for a riding suit. Some replace them far too often, too, to keep up with trends and styles.. So it certainly isn't just confined to our little bubble.......
THE BOINGER BASH AT QUIGLEY HOLLOW. MAKING GREAT MEMORIES SINCE 15th JUNE, 2013.
NEXT EVENT :- May 17/18, 2025.........BOING!!
Blackpool Air Rifles s/h prices have climbed a bit since the 'flu vanished, as have those of my gunsmith friend.
When the 'flu vanished, I gave up looking for a purest target rifle (and pistol) and spent the money I'd saved on pellets and not stopped - as a rifle without pellets is nothing more than a weak bat and an awkward fire poker.
yes some silly prices out there now
Just had a look in my 2008 AGW buyers guide to compare RRP on a few where the same model still exists,
model rrp 2008 - 2022
AA s410 = £532 - £859
AA tx200 hc = £325 - £699
Pro Sport = £407 - £839
BSA lightning tac £285 - £375
Scorpion = £399 - £689
HW 100kt = £822 - £1035
HW 95 = £285 - £440
HW 97k = £386 - £505
HW 98 = £411 - £540
HW 99 = £225 - £286
Interesting reading AB.
At a glance the TX has had the biggest increase in price, having more than doubled in the 14 year period.
The list also seems to show that Weihrauch have only marginally increased the price of their products over the same period.
All the best Mick

This is why used prices are higher.....
and yet he get so little for them when you sell second hand guns to gunshops
Prices really started to rise after the VCR bill of 2006 killed mail order.
id say so as well
