    Air Arms EV2 leaking

    Hi Gents
I got my EV 2 mk 3 out of mothballs today tanked it up to 200 bar and went shooting. All went well then after 60 or so shots it started to hiss and I lost all pressure.
When I got home again I tried to fill it but air came out of the barrel. I have no idea what the problem is, has anyone got any suggestions.
    Cheers

Sorry to hear this. I'm no PCP expert, but those with the correct knowledge will soon be along to assist. It sounds to me like an issue with the exhaust valve leaking (seal damaged / dirt on the seat or similar?).

If you have air coming out of the barrel it could be a few things, especially as you have not shot it for a while.

The hammer could be stuck in the forward / firing position, this would hold the firing valve open and let all the air in the cylinder escape.

The firing valve itself could be stuck open. It moves backwards and forwards in a brass bush and may have stuck in there, or it could just be leaking.

It could be the reg, but unlikely as a leak from the reg usually comes out of the little vent hole.

My suggestion is get it to your nearest friendly airgun guru.

Pcp's don't like being unused gor long periods.

First of all cock the rifle before filling from empty. This takes the hammer pressure off the valve.

Putting a finger off a rubber glove over the muzzle and the filling valve may give a clue, leave overnight and see if they inflate.

Soapy water around the joints may also provide a clue.

The S400 range discharge all air like this when the cylinder pressure drops below about 50bar. It then needs cocking to fill again, otherwise just discharges the air down the barrell. This is from experience. Try that, if it fills, then look for the leak that caused it to drop the pressure so quickly. Balloon over the barrel and soapy water greatly assist. It's usually a cheap fix. Good luck.
