    Powder Measuring

Have been using Lee Powder through Die disc system for many years. Works well with the likes of Vihtavuori powders (extruded) but when using spherical powders such as Ramshot & especially TAC which ends up everywhere as it "escapes" from any gaps in the system. H110 even worse.

The Ramshot powders are good powders & usually available so need to find an alternative powder dispensing system suitable for these fine spherical powders.

Would welcome suggestions. Don't want to spend a fortune but want an accurate reliable system without powder leaking.

    Thanks

Are you using the old lee autodisk or the newer one with the soft elasomer wiper which is better for fine ball powders but you still seem to get a bit of leakage , But nothing compared to the basic old autodisk.

A couple of things spring to mind here.

    1. If you're using the Lee Auto Disks then it would certainly be worth considering moving to the Auto Drums. I use a variety of powders and have little to no leakage with any of them. I also use the Lee Perfect Powder measure when I'm working up rifle loads which hasn't given me any significant leakage issues.

    2. I'm a big fan of Reload Swiss powder. It still seems to be easily available here in the UK at the moment and it gives me very consistent loads in both pistol and rifle calibers.

    Hope that helps,

It'll be ok in the end. If it's not ok, it's not the end.

Another vote for the Lee Perfect Powder Measure. I think there is a version that replaces the auto disc measure on the turret.
I have found this powder measure is equally as good (consistent) as some of the much more expensive similar measures.

Lee perfect powder measure or the Lee auto drum
Both work very well with either ball, flake or extruded powders,no leakage and as good as most others at a lot less cost .

    Lee Powder measure

Stripped down & cleaned my Lee powder measure.
Reduced the gap between the top of the disks & bottom of the powder hopper.
It is many years old so decided the Elastomer wiper insert in the bottom of the hopper would be worth replacing.
Looked it up on Lee website $2.
Contacted Lee who referred me to Reloading UK.
Now on back order from Reloading UK. £3.25 + £3. £6.25 total !!!.
Hopefully will resolve my leaking powder problem.
