There was a guy in the states that would blog about using one to control small vermin at a fair distance. If I remember correctly he would only do it on a completely still mornings when the accuracy of the 300 could be relied on to provide a clean headshot every time.
So I think if you pick the right conditions you can shoot it out to a good distance. It would probably be an interesting exercise to see how far out you can accurately on the range in different conditions.

I think the original advert in the UK shooting press bragged about so many rabbits shot within such and such a time. Sorry can't be more specific 😀

Excellent.
Do let us know how you get on, John.
I must get mine out for a play soon. However, I might have to fit a scope. When I've tried shooting with diopters at the bell target at the last two Bashes I've really struggled with my eyesight. Larger apertures might help, though. But a "Running Boar" type of set-up might be easier for me. Low mag would be fine, so I'm thinking a 2-7x32 would be what I'd go for. Guessing light weight would be desirable for the workings.....

Hi,
No problem using 6ft,lb at 25 yards, I shoot a fwb600 benchrest at that range, and good out to realistic airgun ranges too, the only limitation I find is that on longer shots the flat headed wadcutters , loose the accuracy as they not cutting throo the air like a streamlined round head pellet

You can up the power a bit using a Macarri spring , The advert showed a big pile of rabbits, 40 plus!.
Scoped they make a great gun for clearing pigeons indoors in barns as they won't damage roofs.
I use the QYs streamlines but have fitted the updated factory service kit.
Plus they are ideal for bench rest shooting as came fitted with a bi pod rail so as side lever cocking you don't have to keep lifting them up to cock! Just leave them sitting on the bi pod!
