In their defence I've sent two high value items with them in past week on their 48 hour service and both have been delivered next day... so while their prices may have gone up, they do appear to be offering a good service

They have got to try and recover some of the money that they are losing at the moment.

Earlier this year the company I work for did some large installations of conveyor systems in a large predominantly PF48 distribution hub near Manchester and you would not believe the waste of manpower usage and the too many chiefs (managers) way of thinking on site, When they have a problem with a piece of the systems used you get a crowd of 8 to 10 managers looking and talking about it and having meetings to discuss the problem when all the need to do is call the outsourced onsite engineer's to sort it, Then you get the Monday no-one start's until 3-30 -4pm as it's an alleged maintenance day wednesday is only 1/2 shift and Friday it's a 1pm finish , Together with for a couple of day's it was 30 degrees plus in the place and the upper echelon decided that the workforce could finish the dayshift's early due to the heat but it was not permitted until the union had a meeting to agree it.

In our area it takes much longer than 48 hours, usually the best part of a week.

Be warned if sending guns, we as dealers now have to send next day AM with parcel force if it is a gun, a gun stock or a barrel.

Failure to do so can lead to seizure and possible destruction.

Yet the rules for the public state PF48, or for smaller items, a minimum of RM first class signed for.

Not that a lot of people bother to read them

So basically they will happily destroy a wooden carving, which is what a stock is at the end of the day.
