Well, been tinkering with a Hatsan and got some plinking in recently, so all's not lost...

Got the Evo back from Perkins guns Friday
    Took her to LVAGC yesterday
    She performed well.
The trigger was overhauled and it really shows
The trajectory is nearer .177 than .22 and the recoil is never. 22 than .177. Much easier to cock the my Sirocco

I'm glad you got it sorted Pete, I know how upset you was at the time.

Wonderful news, Mark. I knew it would only be a temporary lull.

Sorry Pete. I hadn't realised at The Bash that you had had issues. I feel for you and can only imagine how upsetting that must have been.

Great to hear that all is good now, though. Sounds like it's shooting well and living up to expectations.

I have wanted to try .20 for ages and the Theobens seem the best.
Had that little Diana out yesterday
The more I shoot that the better it gets
Just got 1 or 2 to tweak and I think the collection is sorted

    Excellent stuff, Pete.

And your little 280 is lovely indeed.

When you say "tweak", are we talking internal fettling or exterior bits like switching scopes about / different stocks / combs / butt pads etc?

Never really explored the .20 much myself but it does sound to be the ideal compromise in many situations.

I have 1 I am going to do a thorough rebuild on
The BSA standard I am in 2 minds about
It shoots at 9fl lb and could be running at 11
    But it shoots nicely
There may be a little scope juggling between the TX200 mk1 (decided to keep it) the Diana and the Longbow
The TX has a big heavy Optisan on it. I am doing away with the heavy scopes on my springers. I may get another CP and then work out which rifle needs what

Ah, sounds like you have a few bits to occupy your tinkering time, Pete.

Like you say, if the Standard is shooting so nicely at 9, maybe best left where it is for now, as you have plenty of higher power, but sub-12, rifles at your disposal anyway.

I've always been a huge fan of smaller, lighter scopes myself anyway, so know where you're coming from. The vast majority of mine are 32mm; a few 40.

If I start to think about it, I have loads of unstarted projects sat about. Time, space, work / life balance and lack of suitable tinkering opportunities preclude such playtime at the moment, so if I put it to the back of my mind it doesn't wind me up so much. At least I always have a few ready for play at any time, so no big deal. But I really must get organised......

It's the joy of springers Tony
I can always find something to service or repair but as things have become more settled in the collection there is less to do
One thing I may try is swapping the piston from the .22 mk1 into the HC
But not while the HC is shooting so well

We're (mostly) in for a warm and dry weekend. Awesome for the time of the year.

Anyone managing to take full advantage and visiting your outdoor venues etc?

    Enjoy...
