Are you using a VPN by any chance, Max? Worth switching off wifi and back on again. The service provider bars access to certain IP address ranges.

    Arrow

Clearly painted by a naïve artist who doesn't understand how to (draw) paint hands or understand how shadows work.

It's quite grotesque. It is odd enough that it may represent some kind of story outside of the individual artist's mind, maybe something from the Adventures of Baron Munchausen? or Voltaire's Candide?

It would be typical of the good Baron to take on an elephant armed with nothing but a sword and a bucket of bravado...

Here is a possible original source for this little tableaux ... the Hamran Arab sword hunters who allegedly hunted elephant in northern Ethiopia

Great target, but some terrible shooting at it.

Superb. I am still trying to puzzle out how it all works ... OK, hit the spot and the sword comes down over the elephant. I assume at present that it then needs re-setting ... that 1kg weight is really something.
    Excellent
    Cheers, Phil

    Agreed on both counts!

They seemed to like that kind of outlandish art on targets in southern Germany and in Switzerland. Who said that Germans have no sense of humour?
