the U-shaped cutout in the vertical section looks a fraction too high - did you forget to allow for the thickness of the felt liner ?
Only joking That wood looks awesome, and it does present really well. I'd never even heard of it !
I bought scraps of Hawaiian Koa wood for over a year at a local lumber yard before I retired. Now I have quite a store of master grade curly Koa for small projects. Beautiful wood can add a lot to the presentation of an antique. How often do we close our treasures away to rarely enjoy them?

Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
I have never wanted a WR pistol ..till now
What a good display Steve, that off cut wood, would make some great pistol grips.
Gorgeous wood. Really matches the quality of the WR.

In British slang an anorak is a person who has a very strong interest in niche subjects.
Very nice presentation, that certainly make the WR pistol a "show stopper" !
I love the grain patterns on that timber. Never heard of that wood before.
Very nice job. Well done !

Had to make a rifle stand out of some of my Koa cut offs. This one was an odd cutoff with one side, rough retaining the bark. Crazy figure in the wood. May want to slim down the supports but want to live it with like this for a bit. Supports have curl as well.
Did slim down front support:

I like it with the bark left on, gives it that natural look.
That wood is amazin and the stands are beautiful. Real craftmanship even without the guns on. Like the previous poster just said I haven't heard of the wood before either.
A stand can really help you appreciate the lines on your airguns. Here is a 1953 SKB, just looks very cool. Stand finished added some blocks to the moveable support for stability and trimmed down front support.
