I suspect they will start cheaper but not vastly, then if they prove popular expect steady price rises.

I then put 'Precihole Arms' into Google Search, up popped the relevant page, with a box on the right hand side which shows the company name, address etc along with a map and a pic which says 'see outside'. Clicking on it took me to Google Earth 'street view' outside the Precihole factory.

Hmm - Precihole Sports have the map on their website with the Google maps link. There’s a lot of litter but if you ‘go down’ the street you see a large multi-story building with barred windows, but with a Precihole Sports factory sign outside and some bloke on a moped.

Precihole Arms Google maps photos takes you to outside Rapid Industrial Engineers, which may or may not have links to the airgun company (no idea). Indian companies can be concerns of large families (like anywhere) and it’s not unusual there to be a mix of similar companies within the same group, quite possibly working to different ‘standards’/quality.

Be wary of google maps location photos though. My company was a photo of a hedge for years until we got round to changing it

The address also given takes you the very same location if put into Google Earth proper.......and as it's an engineering firm.....it does suggest it's connected to Precihole in some way though!

The problem with this new venture, as I see it is multi faceted.

Firstly, who will buy first to be a test purchaser?

If the first few reviews aren't good, it could be a massive financial foul up. People aren't confident - India and precihole arent exactly known as a hotbed of quality rifles. People are suspicious of this significant shift and if those concerns are vindicated, that stain will remain for years to come... Think "BSA and Spain" or "Webley and Turkey". I hope air arms have done their due diligence checks.

I think kral/smk have the cheap end tied up as they are good value for money. Going for a cheap brand and relabeling AA and charging a lot more on top could be their undoing.

Totally agree.
Trying to compete with existing low cost manufacturers
and charging more because of the AA association is unlikely
to end well.
They should stick to innovation and quality as there is always a
market for quality.

I see the Achilles (maybe a slightly odd name for an airgun) has had a pretty positive review in the current Airgun World. I guess the only unusual thing about it in this day and age is having the mod secured by grub screws - but with a barrel OD of 12mm I guess they didn’t have much choice. Otherwise, bearing in mind it’s going to apparently be sub-£500, it seems a good rifle. The finish certainly looks good in the pictures with a decent quality black polymer stock (I also assume a press-release gun would look good though), but whether there’s much to put it ahead of current Turkish etc offerings I don’t know. It kind of looks what I’d imagine a prototype early FX/Axsor would have looked like - similar, but this is a bit ‘squarer’ in places. Rail length looks ok and the self-indexing magazine doesn’t seem too obtrusive, but there seems to be enough to get hold of easily to change the mag over.

I’d certainly be happy to look closer. It’s a light sidelever gun with a 50cm barrel (just over a metre overall), so isn’t the most compact, but it’s quite elegant and at 5.8 lb without a scope they say it handles nicely. Gauge is on the end of the 200 bar reservoir (it’s not a buddy bottle). I guess things like spare mags may probably not be too cheap, as that seems to be an area where most manufacturers try and claw a bit more back.

The Indian price for the same model equates to about £300, but obviously AA would have it’s own discount and subsequent mark-up, duties and taxes to cope with, so how much under £500 it will be will be interesting.

Rest assured they are well built and very, very accurate. many videos on accuracy o youtube, if you wont take my word for it.
Half inch groups at 50 yards are easily achieved with the PCP models.

I politely disagree - for me, it encourages me to investigate further and make my own mind up on the subject.
