Rust de values the tin obviously. I have rusty tins myself, personaly I would just pass it on to someone who would use the pellets.
Hi anyone around please who knows what is collectable?
I have discovered in my garage an old and rusty empty tin of 500 Eley wasp pellets in 177. the tin is blue with a black wasp in the centre. made in Birmingham. The tin is lined inside with a thin green felt ,I have not seen this before. Anyone know if its worth putting up for sale.

WANTED. UNF MOD.
Being blue it should be .22 not .177 so perhaps a printing mistake maybe? That would make it more interesting to collectors. The green lining I’ve not personally seen but maybe someone added that at a later date if the tin was repurposed. I’ve had tins come along that have included non Airgun related bits and pieces and a few that still contain traces of tabaco. Be great if you could add a photo or two
It should garner some attention as the tin collectability came up when researching them (my Webley Falcon is a fan), probably not an amount you can retire on though.

I have a near full tin of old wasps in .177 in the red tin but there’s some rust around the threads on the tin I’ve shot a few and they’re a nice snug fit in the bore.
If the wasp is coloured, it's older and collectable.
Repariere nicht, was nicht kaputtist.
I was looking online for information last night about that tin, Tony
Possible that it dates to late 20s or 1930s
It will look good along with my BSA Standard

Ooo-er; I thought it would be early, but I didn't realise it might be THAT early, Pete. Excellent!

NEXT EVENT :- August 3/4, 2024.........BOING!!
That's only a little preliminary research Tony
But as I noticed Sunday it has ICI on it not ICM which I have seen on others
It's just going to be the tin I use when shooting the Standard or any other old .22s I get
