Which mounts MFR and Alpex 4K?

    Good afternoon, All.

I’d like to fit a new Alpex 4K to my Theoben MFR and wondered if anyone had some advice as to which rings to use. The scope has a 60mm diameter objective lens and a 30mm tube.

    TIA, Dom

Sportsmatch make mounts for Theoben pcps
They are 30mm but I don't know if you will need riser blocks for 60mm

    rings

These rings will give you enough height for a 60 mm objective where you will need at least 1.25", 31.75 mm, half height for clearance.

    May be this style.

Is it shrouded or 16mm barrel ?

To make life easier your best way would be to fit a picatinny rail, (Dr Bob) so that you can use any off the shelf picatinny mount.

Because of the short Rapid block you have an extra 10mm height drop to the top of a 16mm barrel, but only 5mm with a factory shroud, add on 5mm for the rail & you could have 15mm which might let you fit low mounts.

You need to know the OD of the objective, take off the tube dia (30mm) & divide by 2 that gives you the min mount height required on a level surface,
but as I say you could already have 15mm due to the shape of the rifle.

One thing that would worry me is the size & position of the turret saddle which might foul the magazine.

    Evening, All.

    Just a quick update.

    1. Thank you very much to all who contributed suggestions.
    2. My solution involved the Sportsmatch Theoben mounts and 3D printed “half-moon” inserts with longer allen bolts.

The original half-moons raise the scope by 9 or 10mm; this was too much for my application, so I went for 7mm. Everything clears, including an aftermarket magazine from SWP, which has a slightly larger diameter than Theoben’s 12 shot mag.

Got out and zeroed the scope today. It was very easy and done in three shots at 30 yds. I had to tweak the ballistic calculator to be accurate at longer ranges by playing with the BC value. I got there in the end, as an unlucky pigeon will testify… The finale was a 73yd shot at an exploding target. It exploded! Even in FAC the drop was 18.4 cm at that range. Seems like a good unit. I can’t wait to get out now everything is set up.
