My RFD told me the importers have said the will be no Alliant powders for the forseeable future.........and I've already waited 2 years for unique to reappear.

Before discovering the joys (cheapness!) of firstly Vectan AS then Maxam CSB5 I used 4 grains of Viht N320 behind a 158 grain bullet in in my 357 Marlin. Worked well.

    Powders

Have you tried R/S powders? I have been using RS 30 & 40 in my .357 & .44 loads, I find them softer on your shoulders.

I've never tried RS powders in my Marlin but have heard good reports of them. While at the Phoenix this weekend a friend of mine visited Hut 60 at Bisley where they sell RS and he said they were really helpful and have powders for most applications.

I have been trying to find both Unique and Bullseye for forever it seems but to no avail and my friend finally convinced me to to try Vihtavuori powder… All I can say is I glad I did as it’s actually a much better powder… Far easier to meter and much cleaner

I wish I had changed years ago
