For Sale:

A BSA MERCURY .22 air rifle, serial number ZA6507, which dates it from between 1973-4

The rifle appears in brand new condition, not a mark on it, and is complete in its original carton, with all the inner packaging, and correct end label serial numbered to the rifle.
The packaging is all in excellent condition, and contains the original set of instructions and the oil bottle, which is empty. The foresight cover is on the barrel.

Ergo this is a completely time warp rifle, if its been used at all , it will have been extremely minimally. However like all BSA's from this period that have not been used, and so because it has not been used, the piston washer has expanded over time, and therefore the rifle cannot be cocked until this is remedied, assuming such is actually wanted.

There cannot be many 50 year old BSA's left in this condition, even if unused they still need to have been properly stored in order to remain in such unique condition.
