When was the last time that AA or HW brought out a new springer

Lots of new stocks but same old actions, are they never going bring out something new or significantly improve the old actions of the TX, PS, 77/97 and the break barrels. Just wondering

Totally new? It’s been a while to be sure.

But then, what they make works, so no need to farm manufacturing out to Spain or China. You need to concentrate on the more mediocre brands if you want to watch the unsuccessful search for something that’s not crap

But surly with todays computerised tec and machinery it wouldn't be hard to improve the old stuff in the UK and Germany and even better the quality.

They just seem to add a new stock nowadays and call it new.

How and why? Compare AA and HW to any other European manufacturer. They are better in every single way.

What would you improve for a worldwide market?

Lots of things, how about a silent ABT for the 77/97, an improved lever set up for the PS and a one-piece tube for a short TP with no leaks for both AA and HW just for a start.

I think you may need to take a break and revisit this in the morning

Maybe. What you have typed doesn’t necessarily add up with reality

How can you improve on the TX/PS innards, apart from going down to 23/24mm bore and shortening the stroke and may be using delrin guides (especially for the top hat), but you have to remember they have to make things for different markets all over the World.
Far too many rifles to list now, all mainly British but the odd pesky foreigner has snuck in

There's nothing wrong with the PS underlever, I have a very early one and it's still going strong, it was even owned by Alistair for a short while and I never heard him complain about it

Do you think that a one-piece compression tube with a shorter TP would improve the TX/PS making it more efferent or make less desirable over the world, plus an improved lever set up for the PS. and would everyone go off the 77/97 if it had a silent ABT.

Minor niggles aside, I think we should all take a deep breath and thank the imaginary friend of our choice that we don’t have to settle for some old crap such as a Diana

Tbh most Guns made now, be it Air or firearm are usually evolved from some prior design, just fettled as refined as its just worked out to be the best method and as far as projectile type weapons go theres not really many new things to try as a hell of a lot has already been done.
