First three shots though a chrono, and it's doing just under 4 ft/lbs, I think that will go up in time / with use.

Feels way smoother, with that power I doubt it's going to be able to blat bean cans at 45 yards like the 2240 can, but hoping it'll be good at murdering mints at closer ranges.

Yep, you'd usually expect the output to rise after running in that new seal. Did you have to size it at all? As with all guns, the output will, obviously, vary with different pellets too.

Hope you get some nice playtime in to get it run in and get some practice in.

Yes he is mate. He arrives on the 2nd and will be staying for the month. It’s a killer missing another Bash given I missed out on all of them last year (bar a day visit) but I love spending time with my little Bruv so looking forward to that.

If I get a Sunday afternoon at the range it'll certainly be getting some use.

As for the seal, the shoulders of the seal didn't stand proud of the piston, so I didn't mess with it, it just went straight in.

Also managed to get a full size Ox spring in the old Original 50, it's like a Bull Worker (showing my age here) to cock, but doesn't even manage 7 ft/lbs maybe it would do more if the spring was shorter ? The preload tension on it is terrifying tbh

Had a look at why I can't zero the diopter, and it was glaringly obvious, the front sight is about 10mm too short as the viewing hole in the diopter is a lot higher on the back of the chamber than the standard open sights.


On another note, I'm thinking the more rain we have now the better the odds of a sunny bash surely ?

Yep, all being well I’ll be there in September.
My ‘little Bruv’ is actually a fair bit taller than me but 10 years younger. Now, my ‘Big Sister’ (very sadly no longer with us) was 4 years older but only 4’10” . My mum was also only 4’10”. My older brother (only by 11 months) is the same as me as was my Dad. It’s got to have something to do with all the Leprachauns in Ireland I reckon

I rode to Taunton with my mate today to get his Triumph Tiger serviced and on the way - crossed the River Tone but I had to smile when I passed a sign pointing to a place called Bradford-on-Tone Bradford being MikeHW45’s surname .

BTW, I traded in my Ninja650 a few weeks ago for a 2023 Triumph Bobber Chrome and I’m loving it - what a torquey engine !!!

It is Paul and yes 270° parallel twin 1200cc
Only 800 miles on the clock so like new and didn’t have to do the running in

I didn't realise they were 1200 cc, with the crank configured like a V twin the torque must be awesome, I bet that puts one hell of a grin on your face

It does mate. All the torque is low down, you hardly need to come out of third gear - roll on the throttle at 40mph and you hit 90mph in an instant. 80mph on the motorway today in 6th and it was just ticking over

You obviously weren't there last July
Even my weight wasn't enough to hold down a gazebo
I drove up for a single day as it was too scary to camp
Traffic on the M1 was doing 50mph without speed restrictions because the rain was so heavy!

Nope I wasn't really hope it's better this year. It was absolutely chucking it down when I set off to the last bash & it turned out fine. That said I will come prepared for whatever
