I think one of the things that puts people off Walther is the generally poor after market support if something goes wrong - I think this has also impacted Pardini as well.

Im inclined to agree with all of this. Harry Preston of Steyr was a regular attendant at even the smaller shoots. He would obviously be punting Steyr but Ive seen him fixing other makes. Steyr in Spain has a very good agent there too
As for Pardini,Im advised better engineered than Steyr but wheres the support.....Cant see any in France,most in Germany,the Spanish agent seems to work from home and disparaging comments Ive had as regards support in UK
