Springers & NSRA Yorkshire Benchrest springer rules

Does anyone enter the Nsra springer comp with a springer which is not fitted with a 3" plate for stability on permitted rests ? A few of our members who shoot internal competition for springers would like to take part in the NSRA comp for springers but are unwilling to modify their stock by adding a plate .

It is not a requirement but it is permitted Rutty . The springer owners also shoot in comp with Pcp's where it is also permitted .

8.16.1.3
Rifles may be fitted with a fore-end raising block not exceeding 75mm (3in) in width…….

If they don’t want to use one, they don’t have to. I’m sorry but I cannot see what you were trying to establish.

Rutty , I was trying to see how many shooters take part in NSRA benchrest comps who do not have fitted nor use a plate (up to ) 3" wide to allow the rifle to be more stable on the (mandatory ) flat topped plate . The answer appears to be " not many ".
