I think we'd be pushing it a bit far asking for more lanes, really.....even mid-week, most sessions are fully booked. And the weekends will be even more so. We don't want to be upsetting any regulars who might already be missing out on being able to use the 38 yard lanes. Plus, with the 38 yarders, we have space behind with some seating / benches for mingling whilst not shooting. Very, very few will be intensively shooting for long periods, so everyone will be able to get in as much trigger time as they want.
P.S.....We could always set a limit on numbers, if you prefer.......something like 30? Pop that onto the OP and it'd be fair at that, maybe?

Good points Tony, I never imagined that we'd be looking at much more than a dozen guys tbh,& yes it does look like putting a limit on numbers would be a good idea. I have seen from the pics on the website that the shorter lanes have the space behind them for snacks & socialising but it's hard to judge how many there's room for from pictures, so if you think 30 is a good number I'm happy to go with that.
Edit; OP edited to limit places to the first 30.
It was I'm well chuffed
Still need a bigger higher mag scope for the HW97 though.

I find 10 mag to be plenty for up to 90 yards
Just make sure you have good glass and lots of mildots

I see there aren't many posts going on at the moment due to the Gateway timeouts. It's just taken me nearly half an hour to get on.![]()

Okay re the numbers subject; probably the best way.
Great to hear you're happy with the scope.
How about something like a 3-9x40 Wulf scope? Shouldn't be too expensive and, concurring with Pete, should be enough mag. Or the Gun Tuff ones from our sponsor look to be amazing value, but I've never looked through one. I appreciate that they might be "too modern" looking, though, from what you'd said earlier. However, as the 77 is still available, maybe not too much of a negative?![]()

I think it was a very good idea to limit the numbers at this stage, it gives plenty of time & warning to anyone thinking they will easily tag on at the last minute.
Couldn't get the Bushy to focus the reticle & view at the same time so the Tasco is back on the Airsporter, I was thinking of putting the Tasco on the Sorocco but it's not working anyway. I need to sort the Sirocco & swap the barrel for the .22 one that came as a spare. The 400mm .22 barrel has barely legible "Theoben, .22, 5.5 mm, & HE" on it, I can't find a serial number any where, as I'd like to date it.
A x9 scope is adequate enough to see targets but not capable of seeing where I'm hitting them at 45 yards under trees with my old eyes with a .177. If I get to the range anytime soon I'll nab the Vector 4-16 x44 off the 510.
I think I need to stop buying second hand scopes & other peoples problems & stump up some hard cash for a decent new scope for the 97 because I'm sure it's a very accurate rifle. Either that or win the lottery & buy Pete's Longbow![]()
As there are 9 lanes would it be an idea to limit the numbers to 27 (or36 if demand is there) and that way we could arrange 30 minute sessions at the bench and rotate?
Sorry, that Gateway 504 caused me to duplicate my post so I have deleted the second one.
Yep, not a bad idea at all to set the numbers to 27 or 36. However, as you'd pointed out, Paul, I don't think that many people will be wanting to shoot intensively most of the time, people need breaks and I'm sure the socialising side will be more prominent. Sessions can be split anyway, so I wouldn't have thought that everyone will want to use a full 30 minutes' session each time "their turn" comes round. The day will work out brilliantly with the friendliness and caring attitude that's evident at every Bash.![]()

I see that the Wulf range of scopes is offered in a massive choice of specifications, with many higher mag ones on offer at sensible prices. I have no idea how good they might be, but if that 2-7x32 of Mark, Capital Bee's, is anything to go by, they show promise. Personally I don't like huge objectives, but a fair few on offer have 40mm and 44mm objectives.![]()

Just to chip in with thoughts. The area behind the 38s is not massive and within this area is the Reception/Shop and an area for divers bottles. This gets used quite a lot as Bri offers free top ups. There are not a great number of seats etc. and if 27 is the number then there is a lot of people to accommodate as well as the people from the other nine lanes. Few weekends ago when we were there they were holding a bench rest comp on the 45s. There is a landing area but it will be very cold and a smoking room too. Just saying that the space is not huge.
