I know I'm sad, but what helps me is to write things down. I made a table of holdover/under at different distances on the zero range, then went out on the course and practised on each target until I could hit it every time, then I'd work out the range from the holdover needed. Write the data down for each target, eg. "No 1, 0.5 mildot under, 25 yards."etc. Next time you practise, look at the book before you take the shot. (Don't change the mag.) After a while, you can throw away the book, (hopefully...!), and rangefinding a new course becomes easier.
    Then there's wind.... stance.... breathing...

Thanks again for all this you lot. Thanks for the advice and the very helpful tips...although i dont see how getting a tax disc will help...i might try it though . There is far more to learn than i thought...maybe i should just serve the tea's ...i can do that AND i dont need range finding abilities AND it does not matter how i stand .
