    RWS Superfield .177

I have a collection of various rifles and pistols and each and everyone uses RWS Superfield .177 pellets.

A majority of the members of our local shooting club all use RWS Superfield .177 pellets and we have seen some incredible high scoring competition results.

    I have…… Weihrauch HW100, HW97K, HW90, HW80, HW75, Air Arms S510, Alfa Project, Beeman P17, Feinwerkbau Model 80

    Pellet testing

As I’m new to the forum I thought it would be appropriate to post a pellet test I did around 12 months ago.

I bought a Webley nemesis in .177 calibre and was using H&N pellets but got a sample pack of various other makes of pellets to try in it.

I posted the results on YT and so here’s the link for anyone who might be interested.

Best pellets and ones to avoid

I have a .177 Nimrod PCP with a rotary breech and a .22 Paradigm both designed and sold by Graham Trim at G.E.T design. The rifles arent mass produced so probably not widely known about.

The pellets I have found shoot best are JSB jumbo heavy (15.89gr) in the .22 Paradigm and H&N Barracuda 8 (8.44gr) in the .177 Nimrod. Both rifles are equally as accurate with the aforementioned pellets and I have killed rabbits at slightly over 50 yards with both the Paradigm and the Nimrod.

Most pellet brands do seem OK but I did try some pellets which were made in China and are best avoided.

If anyone is interested there is a lot of good technical information on air rifles and pellets on Graham Trims website and I am sure he will offer advice if needed. (Link below)

Finding the ideal pellets can be a pain 😭.
Luckily both my TX 200 .177 & Steyr Hunter 5A.177 love JSB heavies 10.34gr.
