Next thing is to try it with the safety out.

When is your 35 going back together Tony ?
Mmmm.....must be getting very frustrating with that trigger / safety issue. I've never encountered such issues personally, but have read posts on here relating to edges on the trigger cage fouling the safety. Might it be that? How bad is the piston rod end?

Very well done on the 100. Of all the PCPs I'd consider buying, being a bit of a HW fan, although one or two others might tempt, I think the 100 would probably get my money. Will you get the chance to thoroughly try it and check it out at the range prior to paying in full? Guessing this might involve a range visit this weekend, then?

Nick has finished the piston and cylinder work on the 35 and it's winging its way back to me. I'm really quite giddy about getting it back together and having a play. Depending on when the parts arrive back, I'm not sure if I can schedule in a weekend evening kitchen table rebuild or if I'll need to wait until my days off. Next week I'm off on Monday and Tuesday. If I don't get the play slot before, I'll see if I might be able to build it on Monday evening, after the Doncaster Range visit. Tuesday's out as I'm in for another eye injection.....

That's the same conclusion I've come to re trigger cage. There is a little tang on the cage that stops the safety falling out, it wouldn't have to be out of position by much to cause issues. The bloody thing works without the safety in but is still dieseling despite a strip down, degrease & new piston seal It's either got an ability to throw moly forward that non of my other rifles has or the chamber is overly worn / honed.

Seeing as all my shooting is at the range (except bashes) a .177 PCP makes sense, esp as that's what most people are using there. Ideally something good with a large bottle would be perfect, but they are all over 1k, this is half that and its a known quantity being a Weihrauch. I'm hoping to go over on Sunday afternoon, the weather looks terrible but there's a fully enclosed 10 m range & the smaller rifle range is fairly well protected.

I hope you get the package asap & it goes back together without a hitch. Have a good sesh at the range & think of us poor buggers labouring away at work.

Good luck with the injection, I don't envy you one bit.

The Bucket will be a mere formality with the 100, Paul.

Problem is, you'd have to invent some really good excuses if you were to miss it!.

    .Which you won't.

How much moly do you usually use, Paul? I go for just the tiniest amount around the edge of the seal and an application around the bearing surface at the rear. Plus a little bit more around the cylinder walls behind the piston once it's pushed forwards. What is the piston seal fit like?

Hope you bond well with the 100 and have a great session. I'm sure it'll be really good.

I can't envisage any problems with the 35 build, as they're so easy to work on. Really looking forward to it. The same can't be said for the eye injection. But hey ho, it has to be done and if it's going to help.....And thank you for your kind words.

    84 to go, peeps.

It's definitely starting to feel like we're edging closer and closer, peeps.

That's twelve weeks to go, right? These days are lengthening so noticeably now. The songbirds were making a right racket before dawn the last few mornings. I love this time of day at this time of the year, full of promise and expectation. And it's a much appreciated simple joy to hear those dick birds in song. Especially from March through to mid-May, when it seems to me that they're at their strongest.

Spring will have sprung soon. The days getting longer and warmer and it won't be that long until we get to the Equinox. And then we'll be even nearlier, nearly there!

    It's coming, peeps.

Not that much at all, I apply moly with a small flat artists paint brush, it's about 4mm across & very short, I didn't put any at all on the seal. Seal fit felt "normal" ie not loose or tight.

It's going to be rain & high wind tomorrow afternoon, so my excuse is going to be that I'm going to use the small indoor pistol range ....

I'll have to save for a dive cylinder now too

I had to go out driving yesterday in the reserve 175k miles old pug, got to the furthest point & the noise from the rear NS wheel turned into a locked wheel. Reversing unlocked it but then I had a 50 mile drive with the wheel randomly locking while sounding like a brick in a washing machine. I'm having flashbacks lol. I'd still take that over an eye injection tbh.

Time's ticking too slowly for the first bash. Having missed the September bash last year i'm itching for it now. Does anyone know what the May bash situation is yet?
