I have a feeling it's sat in a cupboard for a long time, that the seals have perished with age & I'm the first one to properly use it in ages.

If when I take it back they only offer me my money back I'll bring it home & strip it. It's too nice & was far too good a price to loose it. I've watched that many strip down vids on the HW100 that I don't think it's too much to take on & seal kits are cheap.

Now I'm wondering if I should just get a seal kit & not risk it getting it dinged.
    Yep; I get that, Paul.

I think that I'll take the 100 & then consult one of the regulars who knows the range & PCPs far better than I do before taking it into the shop.

It was a great day for a walk yesterday, very popular too, lots of people were out. The Wolds is an odd landscape, no streams or rivers but with large deep dales dotted about, so there's a fair few slopes to negotiate. Kites seem to be establishing themselves well despite the large number of buzzards.

Ok if the breech seal is there then it'll be something else. They're not too bad to work on thankfully. The most annoying bit will be getting the firing valve to seat after you remove the valve block (it'll likely chuck all the air out as soon as you screw the cylinder back on). I have a regulator gauge, so we can configure your regulator pressure the next time I see you.

I've had the trigger block off & the & cocking hammer assembly out, that all seems fine. I really like how they designed & put this together with three sections, hammer, trigger, & valve. I've decided to get a seal kit & re-do it. That way I'll know what is in there & how it works. Watched even more HW 100 stripping tutorials now & it really doesn't look that complicated thank goodness.

Thank you for your kind offer with the gauge, I'll take you up on that if I don't buy one beforehand.

Sounds like a plan re the '100, Paul.

That walk sounds fantastic. So nice to be out there, immersing yourself into the great outdoors, especially amongst lovely scenery and the wildlife.

Good plan, Paul. Yep, I've watched the odd video in the past relating to working on the '100 and they seem okay to work on. As you say, once done, you know it's done properly and job sorted.

Maybe best to wave byebye to this thread so as not to take too many slots on Page 1 now?

See you over on the Spring Bash thread.
