Not sure how things will play out this afternoon, but it's very good range weather, next to no wind. Weather dips here too next week, but then I'm back at work so it's kinda fitting.

Seal fitting is probably an after work job so hopefully it'll be sorted come next week end, maybe.

Hope you get out with the 35, the evenings are drawing out nicely now, sunset will be after 6 soon

    .

Yes, we often get some ducks around here doing seemingly un-duck like things!

Sounds like you had a nice walk and relax later, Paul.

Did you manage to get to the range?

And hope HW100 playtime goes well.

I didn't have lots of time with the '35, but got there. Lost a bit of time re-focussing the scope (due to eyes changing after those cataract ops) and the light was fading. But the zero at ten yards isn't far off. And NO DROOP. So, a happy bunny. To be fair, I haven't ever personally had a droopy '35, but have heard of a few.

Firing cycle is quick. Not harsh. You can tell it's a 30mm thumper and not a 25mm lightweight, but there's very little sight picture disturbance also. Accuracy seems very good (was using 'Domes) and I'll get sat down next time to chase those tiny one-holers and tweak the zero.

I'll also re-chrono at some point and reduce the power if necessary. That'll make it even easier to cock and give a softer cycle.

How's the hip at the moment? Has it allowed you to go for a play on the bike and enjoy the nice weather we've had?

The 35 sounds like it's doing very well, so well you are tempting me to get mine sorted.

I didn't go the range in the end as my shoulders are playing up from doing the ceiling, so we went for a walk on the beach at Brid. Got home & started on the 100 after asking for advice on the other site. I got the cyl off thanks to a helpful member, and then started to strip the rest, haven't done it all but there is a belleville washer stuck behind the the pressure regulating piston . Plus there is a 17th belleville washer in there which is smaller than the others. I believe there should be four groups of four. This is almost certainly the problem but I can't see why it wont happen again unless they were in the wrong way around.

I've got a paintball bottle & reg which also uses belleville washers, only they sit on a brass rod & aren't free to move sideways like these ones are

    Hi Pete,

Thank you for jumping back in and letting us know. As said previously, we were starting to get a little concerned as you hadn't looked in for a while.

I hope your shoulder issues improve. I'm experiencing issues with the old tendonitis down both arms again and hoping that it subsides soon. Hoping you go from strength to strength.

Have you been managing to get any shooting in?

What sort of things do you have in mind for the garden?

Best wishes to you, good sir.

Yep, hoping my experiences encourage you to play more with your '35, Paul.

Good work on the '100. Sounding very much like you've pinpointed the issue there. I hope the rest of the diagnosis and strip-down and ensuing re-build goes well.

I went out for a ride yesterday to Ross on Wye, not that far from me. Weather was perfect.

I am starting with re seeding the lawn and going from there
I have another scan booked 22/3 on the shoulder
They say rotator cuff and very inflamed bursar.
Lots of pain and a lond recovery
I did get out for a morning Saturday
Shot the TX for about 45mins. Then swapped to the RAW
May have to have a serious look at the collection
Don't know if I will be up to using the Theobens again

Ouchy re the shoulder. I feel for you, Pete, and hope that whatever fix they prescribe is effective and can be done in the shorter term.

    Good luck with the garden.

I do know what you mean re using the harder to cock guns when you have shoulder / arm issues. Refrain from the harder to cock ones for now but don't be making any hasty decisions just yet until you know what will happen with the shoulder.

So nice to see you back on the Boinger Bash thread.

Mmmmmmm.......managed to have another quick go yesterday and it didn't go brilliantly!

The groupings are erratic.....it'll one-hole two or three shots and then spray others a good bit off. Tried with 'Domes and Hobby so far.

That breech latching, which I thought was okay initially, exhibits a little vertical play. I don't know if shimming the breech latch spring up will help (it feels okay and it's a new breech latch lever) or if there's some wear on the cylinder plug where it locates.

After about every 30 shots the breech bolt backs off, too, making the barrel swing "looser". I've never had this before, ever, on all the HWs I've had. I might try and degrease the threads and re-tighten, but it seems weird. And the larger stock bolts also come loose after about every 30/40 shots. This might make you think it's too harsh and needs a de-tune. And reducing preload and power might well help, but the cycle does feel nice.

So I'm undecided what to do with it now. As I have four other 35s (and many more other HWs), I could bail out of it. It doesn't owe me a lot. But then it's got that 'O' ring seal and is performing so nicely. I think best to chill for a while, not let it wind me up and come up with an action plan.....
