    HW77k mk3 action into a mk1 stock??

    Hi,
I was given a mk1 hw77 stock that I much prefer to my mk3 hw77k stock. My mk3 stock has the anti beartrap bolt in it, the actual mechanism has long gone so not really needed.

The mk1 stock has no inletting for the anti beartrap so can i just fit a longer front bolt to it, M7? Or will it upset something else? the mk3 action is beautiful to shoot so don't want to spoil it! 😂

    Thanks

Yes --- ditch the lug, spacer and beartrap and just use an M7 front trigger guard bolt.

    All the best Mick

Just adding. Alternatively drill out the Mk1 to take the thrust lug.

    No good, Jules,

The hole for the lug would break into the cutout for the trigger on a MK1, you get a stronger job using an M7 screw.

Good shout. Seen that on original MK1 & Mk2
