I can't argue with any of that. I own a 300S and a 55T and I love the engineering and uber-precision feel they exude. But much fun can be had with more "lowly" guns, as Melv and others have pointed out. I've only been to a proper Bell Target meet the once. Just before I had my cataracts done. And, although I say so myself, did rather well with a totally bog-standard Diana 24D junior rifle. Struggling now with opens post op - must see the optician as I'd love to attend regularly.

I believe any inherently accurate rifle, with the firing cycle suitably softened, will perform just fine. And it's the taking part and fun that matters.
