smashing, what a lovely box put to good use.
I saw this case on the bay from Sweden and couldn’t resist it at the price. Burl, rosewood and brass inlay with a working key. It was a case for playing cards and trays for different gaming chips. I thought I would just gut it and use it for a future gun case given it was so thin. Upon receiving it I just thought the trays and dividers made of rosewood shouldn’t be trashed? Ended up putting in most of my rare pellets, turned over one of the trays and will drill holes for the vintage aperture sights I won in the Gallery auction. Still work in progress. Anyone of you skilled craftsmen know a good way to eliminate the initials on top? Or should I just leave it as it is and maybe change my name? Lol. Need to be looking for some more vintage pellet boxes at my airgun shows this year?

Still working in it: foam and felt on aperture and key

A very nice box, put to a good use.
Personally I'd just embrace the fact that the box had a past, and not worry about changing the initials. There's other things it could be used to display some day.

If its silver and not to deep polish it out with a dremel or carefully remove and put it on upside down!.
