    Low air problem

Dusted off my old Mk1 Rapid 7 & went out to zero a new scope. H&N pellets. Done in a few shots, 2 mags showing tight one hole groups, perfect, next mag I thought I saw a streak from the pellet & it hit slightly to the left, had a bigger group & saw the spiraling streak a few times. I left the scope settings thinking new scope so is it head position critical ? Next mag the pellets dropped in a neat line & still to the left, starting to sound like out of air as you now would guess. I've done this quite a few times on other rifles but never going off center before dropping. Repeating again next week to see if it happens again. Is it wierd or common to go off center when the air runs low ?

I think it's more likely to be something scope related, duff scopes do happen, re-zero & keep an eye on it.

Done with a bore sighter so only needed a few elevation clicks to zero. Had bigger groups & elevation drop before but never horizontal change with low air. Could be scope ? Hope not !

    Could be low power.
You should get more shots than three mags.

No idea what was in there but my 2nd try it will be a fresh fill. No gauge. Fitted. Curious why horizontal poi went wonky before vertical poi as the pressure dropped

yes, significantly lower velocities can defo cause lateral POI movement, not just straight drop..
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

Thanks. I'm not alone then & nowt to worry about. Just puzzled me as its never happened before. Need it set up perfect with its favourite ftt's then do pellet testing.

I've had this with an HW 100 in .177 and with an AA 510 with low power issues. Nothing to do with the scope. I could actually watch the pellets spiral & go off centre while the scope stayed on centre.

Well maybe it's a thing that I've just never seen
All 4 of my Rapids just gently drop down the target if I shoot them all the way down, never seen any lateral movement.
