Hello and welcome to the BBS 👍.
I did pretty much the same with my mk1 Webley Vulcan,a fair few years back.
It’s still shooting great :cool.

Hello from Finland!
I have been occasionally visiting AirgunBBS for years to search information of different airguns mostly for fun but also when restoring or planning to buy one. Now I decided to register and hereby do my official introduction posting.
I'm keen on classic springer air guns. I have a Webley Vulcan air rifle with a scope, supposedly from 1980, which I fully restored 10 years ago. I removed the lacquer from the stock and retreated it in an old-fashioned way with stain and linseed oil. I also installed V-Mach tuning kit from Mr. Steve Pope. Just recently I purchased a Diana Mod. 5G air pistol stamped in October 1981. It is complete and functioning but has some scratches in blackening. For now I'm planning only to replace breech seal and do some cosmetic cleaning. Back in my youth in 80's I had a BSA Meteor with a scope, but that one I sold when I was studying.
Edit: I forgot I also have a Walther LP53, which I bought some years ago but it's missing grips. I haven't inspected it any deeper, just occasionally tried to find grips from the Internet.
