    For Sale, Diana Mod 5

Let us start by being a little controversial, Mr Griffiths in his excellent encyclopedia shows this model as being post war, however this gun carries the Diana logo also the legend 'Made in Germany'. Note NOT 'Made in West Germany' (as per post WW2) which makes it a Mayer & Grammelspacher item. Anyway, it is an old Diana Model 5.

    Oops it is .177

    I am asking £130.00 posted.

No, I don't think it is controversial, as Diana did put 'Made in Germany' rather than 'Made in West Germany' on at least some their post-War guns before German reunification. Can't blame them really.

(There is a nice example of a 1960's Diana 6 pistol with the same wood grip pattern as yours in the Vintage Airgun Gallery, marked 'Made in Germany'.

Yeah, just noticed the Original 5 I have on here has the same, anyway, they are both early post war 5's, let us see how they do.

I have an Original model 5 that i got for £100 just after the Covid business, It has the light tan colour plastic grips, from what I've seen online, it's an early to mid 70s piece. I think the leather seal had gone dry, it's only pushing the pellets around halfway down the barrel.. I'll have a go at stripping it and soaking the seal before summer is here.

Whoever buys your item will have lots of no nonsense fun with it, great for plinking, and enough power to end a rat!

    Good luck!

A pre-war Diana No5 was the only air pistol I ever bought for medicinal purposes.. I wasn’t really looking for one many years ago while attending one of Bisley fairs, but my eye was caught my a really nice example on one of the stands.
I continued walking around the show trying to talk myself out of it and hoping it would have been sold by the time I had completed my next circuit. Anyway, I had coincidentally booked an appointment with the on site optician and during the examination he commented that it would have been nice if I had brought one of my pistols along to get a better of idea of the best sight picture using an actual pistol.
Guess what my first thought was, yes back to the show with a genuine medical excuse to add the lovely Diana to my collection.
