What to feed a Cadet Major?

Ticked another off my grail list the other day with a Cadet Major in .177, pondering what pellets it might like while I await its arrival so I can order them if needed.
I know my .22 Supersport is happiest on Superdomes but isn't pellet fussy but not having had a .177 yet I don't know if that will be the case.

So if you have or have had one, what Pellets did it tend to prefer?

Try a few different makes, but l think that you will find that Marksman might be what it likes.

I have a few Cadet Majors and basically any pellet will do, they are not pellet fussy the lighter pellet will shoot better than heavy pellets, great rifles for plinking I love them.

A few years ago, I had one, and to be honest Marksman were as good as almost all other brands .

The cost of Marksman meant plenty of plinking by myself and daughter .

I tend to use marksmans in all my vintage Bsa's,
I like the lincoln jefferies nostalgia element.
    I only really plink though.

Tbh plink is all I'm expecting from it as theres other Guns in the collection that are probably better suited to tasks like hunting, comp target etc.

I shall look at some Marksman pellets then but also try what I have in my stash too as theres stuff like Crossman, RWS etc.

    Cheers Gents

I think most 'budget' brands should work and would place Marksman and Excite Econ II on your list.

It's a .177. They do not suffer from the size differential that .22 and 5.5 pellets have. Just fire anything that you have and see what suits it. Beware that if you clean the barrel, it may take a hundred or so shots to settle down but generally , they are not pellet fussy

generally a good option for vintage .22 springers, but not so good in .177 in my experience
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
