    HW80 Piston cocking slot differences

After all these years of owning the 80 I have never spotted the difference until now. Took apart a 1982 MK1 and the cocking shoe slot is 120mm long yet on a 1987 Mk2 the cocking shoe slot is 115mm. Any one else spotted this? Mach 1.5

Next thing I would check is the cocking arm bit. 5mm isn't a lot of difference but ???

Isn't there a difference between the early cocking shoe & the modern one ?

Many years ago I put a very early mk1action in an early mk2 stock and it got bound up before the trigger could latch

Never spotted this, Paul. Cheers for the information.

My 80s are the Venom ones so I'll not tinker, to retain the originality, so I haven't ever really played with them much.

Ive put a few vortek kits and just fitting an ARC v-glide kit to my latest one, every new shoe I’ve used has required modification, the slots themselves are also very inconsistent, I’m going to measure the lengths now

What have you needed to do with the new shoes, my friend? Alter stocks on rifles fitted with the earlier shoe, or dress the new shoe itself so it runs properly?
