I did get to the range & it was fairly quiet surprisingly, the 100 is a lazer, certainly at mid distances, I haven't got heavier PCP pellets yet & it suffered at 45 yards. The 80 is superb, it's not that far off the 100 at mid distances & was better at 45 yards but that's probably pellets or possibly the 100 is under power again.

The 35 "functioned" but needs far more input than the other two, or maybe pellets are clipping the mod. Certainly a problem child that one, could have ended up in a carp pond at one point

I can't believe the bash is so close it's time to start getting stuff together ! And at last I've got a sensible sized tent now
Gotcha re the .177/.22 thing, Paul.

80 and 100 sounding good. As you say, maybe the 100's power is a little low again? What pellets were you fancying for the 100?

Hope you get your 35 de-naughtyfied!

I hope we are talking about your Bash sleeping equipment when you refer to your tent!

Re heavier pellets for the 100 I got a tin of RWS "Super heavy field" (9.1gr) and a tin of Baracuds FTs (9.57gr) from Redeck, and from JSR I've ordered a tin each of; H&N silver points (11.57gr), H&N Baracuda Match Heavy Pellets (10.65gr) and JSB Exact Heavy Pellets (10.34gr). A lot to try & a spread of weights that I hope are around the mark for a sub 12 PCP.

The 35 has a thump like nothing else, which is very pleasing, but it'll put two pellets through the same hole & then the next one will be three inches away The mod looks slightly off to one side looking down the barrel & there is something towards the end of the rifling that may be rust (which I'm sure wasn't there last time I looked) . I'm going to clean the barrel & double check the alignment of the mod, it could even be a baffle I'm seeing as a dark crescent to one side of the bore.

My old tent got a rip from one of the pole connectors at the last bash & is too small for someone my age, it may be called a "three man tent" but two midgets would be asking a lot of it ! The last time I used a tent before this one was going to bike rallies. For some reason I applied the same criteria in choosing that tent, ie ; will it withstand the worst weather this country gets & will it strap on the back of my 650 So now I've got a tent I can stand up in like everyone else has, with room for loads of stuff

There's the slightest of chances that I might get over on Saturday Paul but it is very slight.
    Fingers crossed.

I got the time yesterday evening and stripped it again. The spring is, indeed, of the more stout breed. Measured in at 3.67mm on my very-near-calipers. Explains everything. Now to the choice of spring.....
Indeed, everything makes sense... find a 3.1 /3.2 Still worth trying a TX 2.9, but it might be a stretch...

Cheers, Jon. Yep, most straightforward way for me is to try a '97 kit. Plans underway to get it sourced. Should tick lots of boxes.

I'll put the chunky spring in my ratty old .177 (might even fit a leather piston in that so then I'll have 3 X modern '35s with parachute seals, one with the 'O' ring and one old-school).

Thank you for your wisdom & tips.

    Chap from work?

There's a chance that the chap from work with the HW85 might visit on Friday. I'll be at work. He can't get the weekend days off as, at these busier times of the year, we can only have one off on weekend days.

If he does manage to make it, look after him for me. I know you will and I've told him he'll be fine, receiving a warm welcome and being made to feel at home straight away.

That little selection of pellets should be good for the '100, Paul.

I hope you get to the bottom of the '35's accuracy issues. Investigating any issues possibly caused by the silencer and cleaning the barrel are good ideas. Are your latch solid, hinge bolt correctly tensioned and barrel crown okay?

The new tent sounds much more fit for purpose and should deliver luxurious accommodation for the weekend.
