    Hi Paul
If you have a spare TX200 Mk2 spring for sale, I would like to take one off your hands. I'll be at the Bash all this weekend.
Looking forward to seeing you again and having a chat.
    Best regards, Alastair

The 97 kit arrived yesterday. Brilliant turn-around once again. Thank you, Nick.

No playtime before The Bash; hoping to squeeze some in on my day off next week.

    Awww, thank you, kind sirs.

But....I'd only stripped it on Sunday and quickly cleaned the outgoing spring so I could measure it and also the breech detent latching area on the cylinder.

I still need to degrease the cylinder, cut the new spring down a little and also shorten the guide slightly (94mm spring room), plus I still need to try and source some little 5.5mm diameter washers so I can shim the detent a bit.

All jobs best done at home next week.

At work today and this evening I'll need to get to the shop and buy some stuff for the weekend and get guns and pellets etc ready, so won't have time.

It can come and play at the next Bash.

    But thank you, chaps.

Might anyone have a few spare M2 washers? The breech detent spring is 5.5mm OD. I know Mick's mentioned stuffing a .22 Hobby in there before. But I wondered if the lead might get squished after thousands of repeated operations? M2 washers measure 5mm OD but the spring might just sit okay on them? Or I could cut a few mm off the end of a drill bit....

Actually that is a better solution as it will be easier to pull out compared to a cylinder of metal...

Okay dokies. Thank you for that. I'll have a rummage. I had sorta thought of that but....I know I have 4.5mm BBs and 6mm steels for the slingshots. But I'll see if there's anything suitable knocking about.....

Everything fully degreased for the umpteenth time yet again.

TbT 97 spring shortened. Guide and top hat also shortened (I took as much as I dared off the top hat, Jon, but still needed more clearance) as there's only 94mm spring room in this old-style piston.

All ready for re-assembly but Mr Bloody Amazon man hasn't arrived with the 5mm ball bearings yet! I've sat a 4.5mm BB on the latch spring and it seems like it might work, but I don't want to risk any chance of it going inside the spring, bulging it out and removing any preload benefit.

Itching to get it built up.....

P.S...the old latch spring looks no worse than the new one. Possibly slightly thicker wire, too, so I'll use the older spring.

I’ve removed the yellowed and somewhat hard breech seal, polished the chisel of the latch & ordered a new latch spring and seal.
