Second hand Chiappa FAS 6004. Value?

A friend of mine who is not a shooter has inherited a Chiappa FAS 6004.

He gave it to me today to test and generally check out. It is basically unused, in the factory case, with the match grip (but no manual, other paperwork, or accessories). I needed to tighten up the front sight (a poor friction-fit design) but apart from that it was safe, reliable, and accurate. And actually quite nice.

I already have two of the original FAS604s, which I firmly believe are a lot better than the Chiappa (and have said so on here before). So I really don’t need this thing in the collection.

But if my friend offered to offload it to me, what would be a fair price? They appear to retail at about £450, which seems nuts for something only a bit better than a Beeman P17 or HW40, and probably largely equivalent to a Gamo Compact.

Before I checked new prices, I was tempted to offer him £100, which is on reflection probably what he’d get from an RFD or (after fees) at auction. But I really don’t want to turn him over - I’d rather not acquire the thing than short-change him.

Mmmmm.....not sure, Geez. You're a very lucky chap to own a brace of 604s. Wished I'd got one years ago. I haven't inspected one of these later ones closely, but would guess that they're still a very nice thing? I'm thinking, maybe £150-£175 as fair to all parties?
