Glad you had a great time with your lad, it only seems like yesterday that you was telling me about his impending arrival ldwink.
    Les..
I know pal - time flies. Can't believe my girl, who turns twelve this year, came to the Bash with us at six months old...

The Williams on the 77 is indeed a nice little unit. Quicker in use than the one I fitted to the 35 but fiddly to set up with those tiny set screws ( I had to use my chequering magnifier to set it up and lock it off, my eyes aren't as sharp as they used to be ) - but as you say, it can't be accidentally twiddled and should be a set up and forget job. Hopefully. One modification I might make is to fit a longer retaining screw which could then double up as an arrestor stud in the HW recess - but I'm happy just to have it set up for now.
Beers went down very well - I woke up at 1am on the sofa with a Jaws documentary playing itself on loop...
Up early again this morning as I'm working on a mate's ProSport stock. Sarah and the kids are due back around midday but she's then taking Eleanor to a Taylor Swift tribute gig, so Jake and I have some dad and lad time ( I dodged a right bullet there )
And I've just read the Birmingham Antique Arms market is on....
Thank you, my friend. That'll tick a good few boxes for me, methinks. And we can talk dosh there too, or before.

That's a great idea to double up a longer screw as an arrestor. Although (and I could well be wrong) maybe not required on such a light little unit?

Sounds like the weekend went fantastically for you. A lovely weekend of airgun and family stuff, including that visit to the Arms Fair. Top stuff.

My word! Made me feel even older now...
I'll ask her if she wants to come with me to the summer bash but these days, if it's nothing to do with Taylor Swift or DuaLipa ( I have no idea if that's the correct spelling as I wouldn't know her if she was sitting next to me on the bus ), then it's usually a 'no ta Dad '.

    Can I play too ?

Also wondering how you set your sights up Craig ? I've positioned this so the ring of the foresight hood just sits inside the rear dioptre opening, with a small ring of light around it. Feels like a natural way to centre it, but I've not played with peep sights much at all...

I know what you mean, Craigy.

My youngest one was 20 yesterday meaning that we now have no teenagers in the house for the first time in a very long time.

    Looking lovely, Jon.

Personally, for our uses, I'm more than happy to use a bead / post foresight as I feel it gives a more unobstructed view of the target for me. And your eye auto-centres everything even if you aren't using a ring element up front.

Very nice setup, Jon. I see you have the thumbwheel adjusters too - I must get a set of those.
I'm of the same mind as Tony and far prefer the foresight bead element. It's finer which I feel that aids precision and seems to 'find' its own way into the centre of rear aperture.
Fingers crossed for bright conditions on Bash day as I think this is going to be a good one..

Yep, I think it's going to add a more "focussed" (sorry) flavour, Craigy.

I feel reassured that you are also a fan of a bead set-up up front.....at a Bash a couple or so years ago I had tried to have a go with one or two of Gary from Lincoln's classic springer 10m rifles and I really struggled to cope with the front and rear aperture set-up. I'm not sure if the rear aperture was too small, or the front ring too "blacking out" but I was really struggling to acquire the target in the sight picture. So I feel a slightly larger hole in the rear and blade / bead suits me better.

Although my eyes are dodgier than most.......

The presence of a few 35s at The Bash is sure to get a few wicked tongues wagging. Let's make sure we keep them safe, boys.

I should have been clearer in my post.. I am using a regular bead/post foresight. It just so happens that the hood itself is a fraction smaller than the apeture when viewed thru the peep, so it's easy to align the two. I then just have to sit the bead or top of the post on the target... I also found my long lost little zip-lock bag of foresight elements, so I can experiment.

A few years back I got a Williams AG peep sight from Craig P ,but couldn’t get on with it for bell target shooting.
I sold it to Gary (gtfreight) who later sold it back to me. It then eventually ended up back with Craig ldwink.
I do wish that I would have kept it and persevered with it for longer range work.
    Les..
