AFAIK there's no such thing as an AA "combat rifle"

Looks to be pretty old, at a guess it dates back to the early 80's from the logo try this site look at the 83 Firepower & Supra.

As for price...I'm guessing a golden egg on top of some rocking horse poo

There was a Combat model, it had a very short barrel and a pretend conical flash hider on the end.
Far too many rifles to list now, all mainly British but the odd pesky foreigner has snuck in

    yup...

Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. But not lathes. I have too many lathes. Thanks, JB.

Those sights on the combat look identical to those i purchased for my ex88 sidelever. I would imagine they fitted all the sidelevers although they were an accessory not standard except on the military types.

Fair enough, I made the mistake of thinking modern AA not 40 odd years old, until I asked Google I didn't even realise the company was that old

The foresight for the combat was the standard foresight just reamed out to fit the barrel at the widest part rather than the slimmer muzzle

No they folded feb 82. After that it was air arms. Some residual stock was sold off but one of the first improvements were the open sights.

The Sussex Armoury version was called the AR7 - Basically the same, when air Arms took over they carried the ranges on with a few tweeks, like trigger, newer style sights and the cocking arm re-design
