It is some consolation that the shop revealed it was a 2019 gun that for some unknown reason had been in stock, unsold for an age.

Even though it came with a 2 year FX warranty I not sure I like the idea of a problematic model being sat there for 5/6 years!!!

So I’ll chew on my next bullpup for a bit longer.

Maybe a narrow escape with that one?

When shortlisting which gun to go for I ended up having an excellent conversation with a well know air gun shop in the NW. Turns out they don't supply FAC airguns due to technicalities with their insurance cover. Despite knowing they weren't going to get a sale, they were happy to give me some impartial advice, based on their experience of returns and repairs.

Apparently FX suffered with various quality issues with some models a few years back, but they have since been resolved, and FX was recommended. They also pointed me towards AGT in higher price bracket, and Kral & Reximex for more wallet friendly option. They spoke highly of the distributor Edgar Brothers (AGT) and Range Right (Kral, Reximex etc) for resolving issues. Range Right carried several models I was interested in but didn't publish shot count or max power levels, consequently I ended up having several phone calls with them. Pleased to say they were great to deal with, picked the phone up straight away, took time to answer my questions and couldn't have been more helpful. Given this experience, I suspect they would resolve warranty issues in a positive way too, so I would happily buy a gun supplied by them. I came very close to ordering a Reximex Myth, unfortunately with a mod fitted it was slightly too long for my hide.

Well worth a look on Range Rights website imo, there's a variety of bullpups all for little money.

Surprised the HW100 BP isn't at least on your radar.

Quite a heft to it but HW engineering and build quality is the reason for that. Not sure what your budget is but it's around the same as any FX model as I recall ...

At £750 new with warranty and buying through my business for pest control at my warehouse, so getting the VAT back too I thought it might be worth a punt.

But you’re right, I certainly won’t be paying £1100 plus for one of these with such a bad reputation on here.

Got one, it’s not quality compared to eastern euro offerings like Kalibrgun, AGT and Taipan
The pistol grip flexes and creaks, the pic is plastic and screwed on, the black stock coating goes sticky and peels off, the shotcount is low and the weight is high, far better options out there
If it ain’t broke, fix it till it is

You're right about the pistol grip "creaking" a bit I suppose but I've not found it hinders me or the rifle's accuracy any.

I've also read about the stock coating going sticky but haven't remotely experienced this myself in 2 years of ownership.

In .177 I get over 100 shots to a full cylinder charge which is by no means "low" for a bullpup gun without an ugly buddy bottle style means of air storage.

Sure, the 3 manufacturers you've quoted may produce bullpups of quality too but their price tag matches.

My HW100 BP (standard length) and HW moderator cost me £1124 brand new and I'll wager it's as accurate (or more so) than any others out there bar Steyr.

I've a BPK as a dedicated NV rat gun, mine has had no issues either. The grip creaked slightly when new then stopped doing it. The finish is fine and no irritating sprung magazines, it's a nice gun. Bizarrely mine shoot lead free Hyperdomes as good as any other pellet.

I do wonder if the coating becoming sticky is because of insect repellent or something, mines a few years old and is exactly the same as when it was new.

My FX got fixed in about 2 minutes by my rfd, a new pin was all that was needed.

I have a HW100T already, fancy something different.

I shouldered an HW100 BPK on Monday, it was heavy and too weight forward balanced.

It’s almost not a bullpup considering where the barrel starts.

Saw a BRK Ghost Plus and an Impact M4 Micro, both lovely guns but very expensive.

I’ve not been lucky with HW100’s and have been called ‘HWintolerant’
I’ve had four lemons which put me off them for years but when this 100bp was just 500£ with a nice scope I thought why not have a go as I prefer bullpups nowadays, well initial testing got 75 shots out of it and it’s the longer one, accuracy was ‘meh’ to say the least so put it away for six months only to find out it leaks, roll on another six months I sorted the leak and took it to the range for a test, not great with the common pellets I had but a random try of JSB Stratton saw it shoot blooming well, even at 50y I managed a small group where others were 25mm plus. So yes accurate but not quite Mk1 cricket or AGT levels but for a cheapy it’s ok, I don’t use it much and as it’s my ‘lender’ when a mate comes ratting, it’s got too many negative niggles to be anywhere near a great gun for me but we all like different which is lucky.

Id be looking for used AGT, Kalibrgun, Pulsar, Airmaks, RTI, or Taipan but thats akin to a lottery win

Still one or two 2nd hand Pulsars around but not seen one come up on here.

The Pulsar is a bullpup I now regret not buying.
