I would remove the unit. Flush the gunky factory grease out of it. Then let it dry and lubricate sparingly with a thin gun oil (like Express) or sewing machine oil.
Then adjust the sear engagement. It's easy to do. Cock the unit and you'll see through the little window where the sears meet. The adjuster is at the front of the bottom sear. I believe it will be a Torx. Screw in clockwise to reduce sear engagement / reduce creep. Steady as you go. Don't go too far and do "slap test" it to make sure it's safe.
