'For Sale' forum. Selling an airgun and a couple of knives? How?

    Hi there Ladies and Gents!

I was just wondering if the 'for sale' forum is still here? I tried to use the search function but it keeps coming back with some 'gateway error.'

I have for sale a Theoben Rapid 12 in .20 calibre plus a bag and a Simmons 3.5-10x50 White Tail Classic scope which has been sat under my bed for about 3 years not getting any use.

And I also have 2x Sog Seal Pup Elite tactical knives, that were military issue and are un-used still boxed.

I don't think either of these i could try and sell on Facebook marketplace or , so was just wondering what the 'new school' way of selling these is.

Best regards to members old and new!

The 'gateway error' is caused by internet miscreants trying to crash the BBS. It happens occasionally and will pass.

Good luck with your sale., remember that you must put up a price.

Your sales access was removed some years ago.

The rules require your nearest postal town, not just which eighth of the country you live in.

    Hi Gents,
Thanks very much for your replies! Ah, I wasn't aware of the location thing, I guess at the time I was always moving around the south West so picking a particular town was tricky!
This is going back 10+ years though I guess from when I last posted! Il update that now.

The sale of Knives in the United Kingdom.

The laws have recently changed in regards to the sale of certain knives. Some are outright banned and some are not. In ALL circumstances where knives are sold and transported in the postal system the seller MUST use an age verifier courier like Royal Mail/Parcel Force who offer a service where the recipient MUST show identification upon delivery to prove they are over 18 years of age.

There is SERIOUS legal consequences on the seller if the recipient is below 18 years old.

I STRONGLY advise that you educate yourself in this subject before shipping any of your knives in the postal services. In the current climate I would be extremely dubious and vigilant about shipping any form of sharps so that they only end up with responsible owners.

    Best of luck..

(Moderators should really be making a sticky about this f one doesn't already exist as it is a very serious subject).

There are a lot of versions of Seal Pups (the most messed with SOG design) they are often sold off in sales from shops. Value will depend on which generation / country of manufacture.
The age Gteed signed for RM is OK I read, never tried it, but it is vert fussy about classes of knives - ie Bushcraft OK. It's been made as hard as possible for private sales basically.

    Hi Gents,
Thanks for all your thoughts and it's nice to see some usernames in here I remember too!

Some points covered there i completely hadn't even considered so thanks for that!
I think i have a solid way forward for the sale of my Rapid12 at least, and I might ping you a DM PCPShooter with some photos of the Seal-Pup Elite knives when I'm next home. They were all RM issue and have sat there spankers in my house for about 10+ years!

    Best regards to all
