    Lightning clx superb!!!!

Well went against opinion and bought a lightning clx walnut stock in 177 ,to be fair only paid £250 for it and it's only 5 weeks old as new in box .Now to get to the gritty bits I have sighted in and tried this gun at 35 m in my garden and all I cansay is it is way above what I was expecting ,the trigger seems fine to me I can get groups inside a pound coin it's not twangy ,and only used old crosman premiers out of the cardboard box from moons ago the finish and fit seems good and it does look nice in it's walnut so all in all very pleased with it .Yes I know I paid half price but the chap could not get on with a springer, and I prefer them .

Yeah exactly. Don’t expect them to have a Rekord trigger and in my experience (though I possess many Rekord and CD triggered rifles) these BSAs are fine. Could be better of course, but are fine. For all the niggles on forums, there’ll be manyfold of happy owners who have never been near a forum in their lives. £250 was a decent price s/h for an as-new walnut. Glad you’re happy.

I have a tx 200 ,and yes of course it's probably better finished etc ,but as for shooting as long as it hits where I aim that's all I can ask ,not after every pellet in the same hole i only have my guns now for a bit of informal fun .Thought I was going to get serious again but really cannot be faffed so just enjoy the guns for what they are ,yes it's addictive ,but I seem to spend more time admiring my new guns than shooting them ,and now always seem to be looking for the next one have got a reximex leiva on order ,so looking forward to that next.

Ah-ha…Dereham…my great grandad was a foreman at Hobbies many many many years ago…

And a 5 week old TX would cost a lot more than twice your BSA cost, so enjoy it for what it is. I’ve spent more on 70’s Webleys with far crappier triggers than that BSA.

Great to hear of your positive experience, Dave. As said, we often see and hear too much of the negative stuff, so lovely to hear that you're enjoying this.

Great stuff Dave, I can’t wait to scratch the itch myself one day with the CLX and I would have found it very hard to resist that price

    Ouch!
A £200+ hit is hard for someone to take on a 5 week old gun!
Especially as the walnut stock guns were supposedly only being sold in 'limited' numbers.
I still think it's a disappointing gun, in that it didn't live up to the hype surrounding it.
